Advantages

The introduction of the original Masoneilan 35002 Series Camflex in 1968 marked a significant advancement in the realm of control valves, establishing the Rotary Globe as a groundbreaking category. This innovative valve combined the superior control attributes of traditional globe valves with a rotary mechanism, enabling it to replace approximately 80% of the control valves available at that time.

Since its inception, numerous enhancements have been implemented, resulting in over 1 million Masoneilan 35002 Camflex valves being deployed across a diverse array of process control applications. These applications range from basic water systems to highly erosive environments that would compromise other valves. The Masoneilan 35002 Camflex valve is primarily engineered to excel as a control valve, demonstrating its capability as a Universal Rotary Globe control valve.

Linear Flow Characteristic with Enhanced Turndown

The Masoneilan 35002 Series Camflex valve features a linear flow characteristic that exhibits a slight adjustment as the plug nears the seat. As the plug engages with the seat, the flow change rate diminishes gradually until the plug makes contact. This design achieves a Cv ratio of 100:1, ensuring stable operation across a broader flow range, whereas most conventional globe-style control valves typically offer a maximum of 50:1.

Extensive Application Range

The standard design of the Masoneilan 35002 Series Camflex valve incorporates features that are either optional or unavailable in competing models.

Engineered for Erosion Resistance

Each Camflex valve is equipped with a hardfaced or solid Stellite plug as standard, with optional seat rings and retainers available for applications involving erosive materials. The guide bushings are strategically positioned outside the flowstream to protect critical guiding surfaces from damage caused by debris.

Compact, Lightweight, and User-Friendly

The Masoneilan Camflex II is designed for ease of installation and maintenance, featuring flexible body options. It is available with Threaded, Flangeless, or Flanged ends to accommodate various pipe connection requirements. The flanged version is also offered in the Camflex GR configuration, which aligns with the face-to-face dimensions of most standard globe valves, facilitating straightforward replacement of existing valves.

Regardless of the chosen end connection, Camflex valves are significantly smaller and lighter than traditional globe valve products, typically measuring half the size and weight.

Minimized Components

The Masoneilan Camflex II was designed with product stewardship in mind from the outset. It not only removes the need for a bonnet gasket in its standard configuration but also requires only a single plug for each valve line size. The design incorporates various seat rings to accommodate a range of flow conditions without the inconvenience of replacing a plug, cage, or stem size. This approach will significantly reduce the necessary inventory on hand and allow for the use of a common part across other Camflex installations of the same body size.

Low-Noise Trim Alternative

An optional patented differential velocity device (DVD) is available, which divides compressible flow streams into a high-velocity core and a low-velocity envelope flow stream. This differential velocity principle is akin to that utilized in commercial jet engines and offers noise reduction of up to 18 dBA.
