Consolidated Pilot-Operated Safety Relief Valves (POSRVs) provide the safety assurance you anticipate, the reliability you demand, and the efficiency necessary to ensure the seamless operation of your processes. These valves deliver exceptional performance along with a variety of technical advantages and operational benefits compared to conventional Pressure Relief Devices.

Features & Benefits

Pilot-Operated Safety Relief Valves are engineered with distinct features that set them apart from traditional spring-loaded safety relief valves, offering enhanced performance. Their compact design results in reduced weight, facilitating easier installation across a wide range of applications.

Zero Leakage at Elevated Operating Pressure

Consolidated Pilot-Operated Safety Relief Valves deliver exceptional performance, achieving main valve and pilot seat tightness of up to 98% of the set pressure. This innovative design guarantees zero leakage under normal operating conditions, even in the most challenging high-pressure environments.

Stable and Efficient Overpressure Cycle

The remote sensing configuration effectively mitigates rapid cycling and valve chatter in scenarios with more than 3% inlet line loss. This feature allows Consolidated POSRVs to open and relieve pressure in a consistent and efficient manner. The modulating design responds proportionally to the overpressure pilot, facilitating a smooth opening cycle and ensuring that only the necessary capacity is relieved, thereby maintaining safety, efficiency, and reliability in operations.

Flexible and Modular Design

Certified for use with gas, liquid, and steam, Consolidated Pilot-Operated Safety Relief Valves can be tailored to meet specific application needs through a range of flexible features. These include adjustable blowdown, bolt-on modulators, pilot line pressure surge snubbers, and numerous optional accessories, making them suitable for any service requirement.

In-Service Testing

There is no requirement to halt your operations to send your pressure relief valve (PRV) for servicing. With the Consolidated Field Test Connection accessory, you can perform a standard set pressure test in the field while your process remains operational. This accessory is included with every Consolidated Pilot Valve, enabling you to conduct set pressure tests while the valve is actively protecting your pressure vessel.

Enhanced Capacities with Compact Valves

The Consolidated full-bore POSRVs enable you to optimize capacity while utilizing smaller valve sizes, resulting in savings on costs, space, and weight.

Reduced Size and Weight

Compared to a Direct Spring PRV, the Consolidated Pilot Valve presents notable advantages in size and weight, facilitating a more streamlined installation. As the size of the main valve increases, the Pilot Valve remains constant, thereby enhancing this advantage as pipe dimensions grow.

Full-Nozzle Design Option

For applications involving corrosive substances, the Consolidated 2900 Series Gen II offers a full-nozzle Pilot Valve design. This design isolates the media from the inlet neck area of the main valve body, helping to prevent expensive upgrades to exotic materials in certain corrosive service scenarios.

Seamlessly Upgrade Your Direct Spring PRV

If you currently have a Direct Spring PRV that is oversized, incorrectly specified, or could gain from the advantages of a high-performance Pilot Valve, the Consolidated 2900 Series Gen II Pilot Valve is the ideal solution. This Pilot Valve is the only option available that can replace any manufacturer’s API 526 Direct Spring PRV without necessitating modifications to the piping due to center-to-face dimensional variations.
